Introduction

Praise be to God the Lord of the worlds and may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the prophet

Muhammad and on his family and on his companions and on those who will have followed them with benevolence until the day of Judgment.

This is a book designed for people who want to learn to read and write the Arabic language. It was designed to help second generation Arabs raised here in Italy and new converts to learn to read the language of their holy book, the Koran. And it is also made for non-Muslims who wish to learn to read and write Arabic or who are approaching the Arabic language for the first time, or who want to clarify their ideas on some rules of writing and reading Arabic. And that's why I titled the book: Arabic for All.

This book mainly follows what is called the "Arrashiidi Method", a method that has been particularly successful in teaching reading and writing the Arabic language, with the addition of some personal tricks that I have introduced, as the book is also aimed at non Arabic speakers.

The book is divided into six chapters:

  1. The first chapter discusses the Arabic alphabet in eight lessons and in the original order called
"Al-Abjadya". And this happens through cards in which the name of the letters and their pronunciation are explained and each letter is associated with a figure, in order to facilitate memorization. Furthermore, each lesson contains two exercises, one for reading and the other for writing letters. Then in the eighth lesson the order "Alif-Ba-lyva" is presented
  2. The second chapter deals with the shapes of the letters and their vocalization through the short vowels of Fatha, Kasra and Damma, thus forming the syllables. And this chapter is divided into seven lessons, each of which contains exercises in reading and writing letters in various forms.
  3. The third chapter entitled "composition of words" is the chapter in which the first words finally begin to be formed, both with the non-attachable letters and with the attachable letters, and this is done through the letters in the various forms, with the vowels short and with the Sukuun. In this chapter we also begin with the reading of two stories, one for the review of short vowels and the other for the review of Sukuun.
  4. The fourth chapter deals with the long vowels of Madd, and also in this chapter words containing the various long vowels of Madd are composed and for each long vowel a review reading of the relevant vowel is provided.
  5. The fifth chapter deals with the topic of Shadda i.e. consonant doubling, and the topic of Tanwiin which is used to form some grammatical forms. In this chapter some simple grammatical notions are introduced and some examples of sentences into Italian are translated. And also at the end of this chapter a review reading of the Shadda and the Tanwiin is provided.
  6. The sixth and last chapter deals with the Arabic definite article and the two types of Lam: the lunar Lam and the solar Lam. And as in the other chapters, a review reading of the Arabic definite article is also provided at the end of this chapter.
  7. Finally, in the last lesson, space is dedicated to the "A-Ttashahhud", which is used by people of the Muslim faith to be able to perform their prayer
